Opponents' Engine Sound on GPxPatch

After I started to play the game with the GPxPatch, I noticed that the sound of the other cars' engines are really messed up...they sound like an old car engine that it's about to shut down because it's broken...that's how it sounds...does it happen to everyone?
Also, is there any cool sound patches anywhere to replace the originals?
