question about reflections

when i turn refelctions on, the ferrari 2003ga and williams fw25 have 2 funny little relective strips just either side of the steering wheel, when viewed from the t-cam view. ironically these are both vipers cars so i dont know whats going on. if only i could post a screenshot then you would know what i mean. i fiddled with the f1graphics.cfg to turn reflections on so maybe i need to undo something

I want to turn off the flare u get on the sides of the cars when driving in the cockpit, is there a way i have tired every thing
