Thanks guys for the kind words! I'm about half way down the waiting list I think - might be a little while this hits the track in anger :)

Southern Cross Racing Announcement

On behalf of the team, I present the new livery SCR will use for the season, which will make it's appearance at Rd4 Kyalami GP.

Race Livery

Test Livery

(Ignore the number and drivers name)

The two liveries side by side.

The biggest changes are the departure of Holden as engine supplier and Qantas as airline carrier. Renault and DragonAir will now be the team's new engine supplier, and airline carrier respectively.

I'll be using a new helmet as well from Rd4 to show the new changes. Monster Energy remain as personal sponsor, so no change there. Here's my new helmet:

Love it. :-)
Nice helmet Greg. Thanks to Greg and John for putting this together. SCR has switched to Renault engines due to the inevitable demise of Holden in Australia. No other team in the GPGSL currently uses Renault engines, and we are hoping to see some good performance come out of the deal.
Qantas has also been dropped due to the fact they can no longer afford to sponsor the team.
New airline sponsor Dragon Air are based in Hongkong and the team thanks them for the injection of cold hard cash.
XXXX Beer, will continue to supply kegs to the entire GPGSL paddock after each round for the entire season.
In other news, my own personal sponsor, Donut King, has today launched a take-over bid for Santilal Bakery. This move has seen Santilal Group shares plunge dramatically on the Indian share market as share-holders rush to dump their holdings and buy into Donut King.

I like it, the only thing I'd say is that you could use the newer Renault logo...unless you were going for the mid-90s vibe, of course!

Didn't realise they had a new logo. If I get the chance, I'll change it to the new one. Otherwise, might be best to leave it till next season.

Nice work, Greg. As Jake says, it'd be good to see the more recent Renault logo and font. Nice work on the renders too, John.

Good to see that the car, despite the changes, is quite clearly a product of Southern Cross Racing.

Here's an absolutely huge version of the new (shall we say 2004) Renault logo.

And on the engine front, don't nobody go stealing Porsche ;)

I'm pretty sure Ruben's team on the waiting list is running Porsche...isn't it?!?

Speaking of Qantas and Holden, I understand Demon Racing still have Holden engines, but did MAC Racing lose Qantas as a sponsor? Going by the grid car shot seen in the season 9 thread, it seems to me that Qantas was dropped (and I've yet to see what the front nose and rear wing have so no comments there). Not sure what Glen plans on doing regarding Demon's engine supplier for next season, but Nathan may need to plan for a new engine supplier to take over from Ford. Ford is ceasing operations in Australia so their demise is inevitable.

And Dan, why would anyone want to steal Porsche as a Engine supplier?

I think at Demon Racing they are perfectly capable of deciding if and when they will change engine supplier.

Also Ford might cease in Australia? who gives a ... It's still "alive" in Europe and the US.

Yep, pretty sure we are more than capable. Holden is owned by some company called General Motors, a US based company. I am led to believe they are a global manufacturer.... Holden or not Holden, i am sure Demon Racing will be fine...

Bugger, you win this round Mr. Greidanus.

On a serious note I'd forgotten all about Ruben's team.

I won't go swiping someone's engine deal.

Greg, because Porsche are cool.

On that note I may need to scrap Lancia as they make bloody nothing. Alfa Romeo still make cars that fall apart right?

Where's the issue with more than one team running with the same engline supplier? It's really that that much of a huge deal.

I have to agree there, Rico. It still exists on Earth, so I don't see the problem.

With regards to the MAC, Greg, you'll see in good time.

And finally, with engines...nobody steal Mazda! GPGSL needs a rotary engine...
