Not sure if this has been posted before (sorry if it has).

Racing "Ace" level at Imola, had a spin and inevitably ended up last from 9th,anyway came upon Yoong just before his engine blew. There was grey then black smoke and i had to look twice when i overtook him as his Engine cover was totally on FIRE,cooool.

Anyone else witnessed this ?

Exactly, and it caused problems for the other drivers too. See 'Oil on the track' topic.

Not denying the fact thats its not anything new Cai,just posted to see if anybody else had witnessed it in GP4 or if they had'nt they now know it can happen,so can look out for it.

Pretty well done if you ask me,considering Papy don't put it into NASCAR wrecks in their games so its something different to watch,uh except GPL that is.

Thought i was L.S. i had to look twice, just to make sure.

Nice effect it was too! Poor Yoong,it must have been hot in there!

I've got bored several times and spun round and round until my engine overheats, and sometimes it catches fire then. :) Cool effect, but looks slightly unrealistic when the flaming car is still travelling at quite some speed for me because the flames look uneffected by the laws of physics and burn straight upwards...

and that would be because heat always rises :-)

NO!! Its all due to convection currents. The flame heats up the air around it, which makes it hot, so it becomes less dense and rises. A circular currrent is now formed which blows the flame (s) upwards.

Which means heat rises :P

Don't worry guys it was only a Minardi,it was going sooo slow that the Flames had no Air Resistence so they had to rise up as the car was near stationary!

Still a nice effect though!
