GP4 - URGHHHHH

I cannot believe I am saying this, but I just downloaded GP4 (of course only as a try before you buy ) and all I can say about the frame rate is urghhh. My system is:

2ghz Pentium 4
256mbDDR ram
Geforce 4 mx420

The frame rate was disgusting. On GP3 I was pleased with the 27fps or so I got, but 18fps??? It runs way too slow to enjoy it and to be able to drive properly. I put nearly everything down to low - and I got 20fps.
Hopefully the official release will somehow be different, all I can say is people with lower specs are in trouble.

tweak it first to tailor to suit your system, theres been quite a few posts about this

listen i read your msg and i have to say that it runs pretty smoothly on my machine with a framerate of 37

My specs are
AMD 1400
512Ram
64MB Asus V8200

i hope this helps maybe you have to tweak your system a bit more

ur gfx card is a severe bottleneck, get a ti 200 or ti4200 and it will absolutely fly

what is the max. frame rate can u get in gp4??

and waht kind of frame rate would you get with a Geforce4 ti-4200 64mb??

Theoretically you could get 60 FPS as that is the max on the slider. But I cannot imagine what system would deliver that kind of performance.

You would easily be able to achieve that on an expensive PC bought today. A 2 gig CPU, 1024MB RAM and an 128MB GeForce 4 should cope easily with 60FPS on full details. It doesn't bear dreaming about does it?
