I think it's a combo of haze textures and color filter..I'd like to know what the color filter is being used...or was it postwork ?

All I can tell you is. A lot of hard work and complex figuring has been involved .... mathematic equations and so forth. Light calculations, which meant sitting in the dark for hours ( laugh )
Guy's it's just a clever little filter which seems to have had quiet a good result so we will see a little tweak here and there and then I will release it.:-)

Is that the haze or the colour filter ? Haze could be released as a "kit" for placing in any tracks maybe, I don't have time to play with it at the mo'...I'm too busy with the engineers/pit crews.
Is your haze method different from lo2k's ? I tried animating the haze a few months ago, but the results were pretty poor, cockpit dry ice effect was ok tho'.

These pictures have slight editing with blur and tyre darkening but the results are almost akin to r/factor with the help of the filter ..... makes for easier edited screens with quiet nice results.:-)

Fine tuning now ....
I dont know guy's but look at this screenie completely untouched. Admitedly I ajusted my nvidia settings but I think the result is great.
It does not look so cartoonie ... with the haze and the settings the car has the right shading all by itself .... no edit needed ... appart from if you want to add blur or spin the wheel ... all in alll quiet happy. :-)

Okay last screen ... RELEASE tomorrow. I will also post my nvidia settings and in the file will also be my C.F.G

Well ... I looked at this screen and really, .... R/Factor or GP4 ..... can't tell any more. All I did was what you'd do to any r/factor screen blurred the background a little and radial blur on the wheels ... just sweet.

On a similar note, can the flares that were seen at races in the early 2000's be reproduced? I know they were included in some of the Sony games.
Only image I could find on google (I know its post-race):

They can using animation, but it would be much cooler if Isaint could write a filter ;-), I doubt it's possible tho'

I made this dry ice animation for the cockpits when sat in the garage

I used 3ds Max and FumeFX for the smoke, and I created the smooth loop in After Effects, very similar to a flare effect.

The underlying dry ice style mist isn't suitable for flares but I applied some colour in AE, so it should look cool on a transparent background.
