Paul is doing his first season in F1 and he needs to get race results. Sutil knows the car and tracks well. It makes no sense to have di Resta be the 1st guy to sit out on practice sessions so some never-going-to-race driver can put in a few laps.

Oh, and Petrov wasn't dirty in the start, he was absent minded. He moved his car about without taking into consideration the possibility of having anyone to his side.

Absolutely, and he's continuing his quietly impressive form(in races at least), his current P2 in the title race - ahead of Lewis - is showing that too.
IMO Jenson's move to McLaren, and form against Lewis, has been what's proven him as a driver. Think he's surprised everyone with how well he's driven since he's been there.
