Kubica comfirmed at Renault for 2010

Wow, he seemed to pass a lot of McLarens (Heikki) in 08 didnt he?

I do rate Quick Nick Quiet High. He certainly has the raw pace of Kubica, if not more, and obviously better development skills due to his experience. I think his issue is always qualifying with a heavy load which compromises the early part of his race.

I think back to Monaco 05, where he came second and beat Webber - he started near enough to the front of the grid, and showed his pace and earned that 2nd.

I do hope Nick is in a seat next year. Perhaps Rosberg to McLaren and Nick to Brawn to keep Mercedes Happy and help with further development. It would be a nice thankyou from Mercedes who screwed him over with Kimi!

Casabonka, About heikki Before he became an fulltime f1 racing driver on 2007 f1 Season for renault team, I expect to out-scored his team-mate. And I rate him highly and i was on very side of flavio briatore saying that he is the "anti-alonso". But that just before. And now, i don't know what happened to heikki. Something ruined his EGO and drivability as a racing driver.

He earned a podium, but not 2nd, because before the last stops, Webber (2nd) and Heidfeld (3rd) were stuck behind a slow Alonso, and it became clear that whichever Williams pitted first would come 2nd, and for whatever reason, Williams chose Heidfeld.

yeah with low fuel load he took pole and his team mate Webber was 3rd in the qualifying despitate fuelled heavy for 1 stop strategy, sadly Webber's race was ruined by first lap accident.

That's life, eh? Especially Webber's, the "unlucky" man of recent times.

You can't defend Nick's credentials by harking back four years! A lot, a LOT has changed in F1 since then.

i personally think that Renault made the best choice with taking Kubica, but Renault without Alonso is like Ferrari without Schumi.So he has big shoes to fill.But in the end i think they will take glock as 2nd driver and Renault will be a Title contender next year.

Ferrari without Schumi became a team, i.e did not support just one driver. I do hope Renault become the same without Alonso, who also likes this number 1 status rubbish.

I would rate Nick as a much better race driver than Kubica, but Kubica possibly having more raw speed.

Next year with the fuel though I reckon Nick could be a major force. Kubica for me is by far the most over-rated driver on the grid.

by which standards is Kubica over-rated?

I don't see him making the evening news, he is not a media icon at all... so what that some fans call him the future world champion...

He's just who he is, real, natural, obeying the rules... according to my obserations he's had the slowest car on the straight line and some awful/unlucky races this season

He is where he belongs at this stage of his career

He's neither overrated nor underrated

Nick is also where he is, he's just getting old that's his problem, but they both have talent

@ yo-gurt: The fact that Heidfeld is easily accounting for Kubica does not look good for Robert, particularly considering he was considered one of the young stars of F1, and Heidfeld was considered to be declining. Renault or Toyota could certainly do worse than to hire Heidfeld next year.

A move to either Toyota or Renault would be quite good for Nick Heidfeld.

Trulli and Heidfeld would be an interesting pairing at Toyota me thinks...
