Who will replace Alonso if he leaves McLaren

If he does stay then he'll just create his own space within in the team and only speak to the other personnell when absolutely necessary...which imho wouldn't make too much sense. Besides, lol, it'd be more interesting to have drivers moving all over the place at the end of the season.

His Honda contract is only for 2008 isnt it ???

Maybe after that he will move somewhere else, but tbh Honda will give him anything he asks for, and Honda and JB team almost as well as JB and Williams

Aye I see what you mean now. Someone with a pretty big wallet would have to buy him out, and Renault are known for being conservative with their cash. Mind you, if someone does buy him out of his contract then at least McLaren get some of the money back towards the fine, lol. Would be kind of ironic if the driver who alienated his team helps them out with the cash.

That wasn't even a test. IIRC she only did some laps at Indy as a demonstration.

Alonso will go to Renault I think. He was happy there and they seem were happy with him. Renault will give him whatever he wants and who knows if in two years they are again on top.

What about Toyota? They have the money now Ralf has gone, and Trulli is a known quantity to Alonso

Due to the voting system in Germany, Governments are always made up of coalitions of different parties. At the last election, an almost unprecidented result saw the CDU/CSU (rough equivilant of the Conservatives) go into Government with the SPD (rough equivilant of Labour)

Even all the money in the world couldn't lure alonso to toyota unless they had a winning car. You know what he's like for complaining at things as they are, lol, now imagine him in a worse car. As for Trulli, yes he is a known quantity but until Flavio put him down mid 2004, he was pretty much at the same level as him.

Toyota would be a good choice for Alonso. It'd be like Schumacher and Ferrari. He would build the team around him. It would certainly take a couple of seasons for them to win, but Alonso is exactly the kind of driver Toyota needs.

I disagree, Toyota have shown no ability to rise to the top despite having a huge budget, getting Fernando on board would make little difference imo.

My choice would be Red Bull, a swap with Mark Webber would be good as the car's pace is steadily improving and reliability too. Plus i would love to see Mark pitted against Lewis for next season.

If he goes he will be a fool. Alonso has the chance to achieve massive things in F1, and the worth thing he can do is go to a team like Toyota!

Hell, even Honda would be a better choice, not that it is possible by Toyota as a team are far worse.

Also,he needs to be in a team where he can keep up his skills of being up the front end. Driving at the back is totally different to being at the front or near it, as JB has said about this year.

Having Alonso not at the front will be not so great for us.

I love having Kimi, Lewis and Alonso and to some extent Massa at the top, thats 3, and maybe four top drivers able to win.

I don't believe any of it, but it suggests Massa more than Alonso. Plenty of reports of Massa heading to Toyota (how likely it actually is I don't know), while I can't say I've seen one of Alonso going.
