Gold Coast to rival Melbourne for Australian GP

i personally love the melbourne grand prix and don't want to see us going away from there anytime soon. i suppose the idea of a night race would be ok, kind of meh, but only ok as long as it DOESN'T replace a current gand prix. it's be ok as an extra imho.

I'd love to see Adelaide return :D

But not as a night race. I wouldn't want any night races infact. And I think the night race thing is just temporary, it will probably not be mentioned anymore after a while.

It'd probably bottom out and get beached. TV just doesn't do that bit of road justice, it is actually almost a vertical drop.

me folks and parents friends and me were talking bout this the other day, it was in the courier mail i think but i think there nearly is going to be another track being built on the gold coast because partly because of v8 supercars because tony cochrane wants another round in qld or replacing the current paperclip track at willowbank. but they were talking about building a track in the middle of qld to bring v8 followers from the north of qld because all they have is darwin. because of the money being pumped into the building of this track it would be made to world class which could hold f1 races. I think that this is a more v8 type of issue but because of the money involved it could hold f1 races. mr ecclestone also talkied with channel 10 over the australian gp and said that it is most probable that melbourne will be held under lights next yr because they loose much of their target audience (european viwers) because of the time difference.

i would love to see the f1 race go somewhere else i would love it to go back to adelaide but they dont want it back because the v8s are massive in adelaide, maybe philip island but it would need facitlity updating

yer bathurst wouldnt be good for an f1 car ive drove and walked that circuit and like red bull said tele doesnt do it justice and @ muks no game has ever came close to reproducing that circuit i just wish it could some day

tried V8Factor? that comes with the best version of bathurst i have ever seen. if it wasnt for that mod and trak i wouldnt play rfactor

I really hope this DOESN'T go ahead, because Melbourne is always a brilliant race to watch. It's not fair to lose it cause it's a brilliant track.

What they should do is open the season with Melbourne and close with Queensland, brand it "Australasia" or something. They can't brand it "Pacific" because I want Suzuka to use that as it's ticket back into the calender :P

It could be called the Oceanican Grand Prix or something.

f1 need more street circuit, as monaco is the only one.

Melbourne is. As is Montreal (partly) and Abu Dabi will be party a street circuit aswell.

and isn't Spa partly public roads too?

i mean full complete street circuit, yes acorse Abu Dabi goin one of them.
