I was saying about the race that Jos Verstappen hitted Juan Pablo from behind while he was leading after he overtook Michael Schumacher in that wonderfull manouver.

But I liked Jos the boss, I think he is (or was) a fast driver that could deliver some great results with a top car, I'm not saying he could beat Michael Schumacher or Fernando Alonso, but he could had some great results...

I can't watch youtube on my work, but when I get home I will watch it.

There is a video of the accident, not the end of the straight camera, that you can see me on the grandstand. I was in near the 100 meters board.

Verstappen won't drive in Zandvoort. Money issues (as always). Test driver Jeroen Bleekemolen will drive instead.

can someone explain why jos verstappen has a big following on the internet? is it his nationality? cos jos "the boss" never did anything great in his time in f1, only thing i remember from his career was 1. he was comparable in speed to schumacher in his first few races, considering he was a rookie and he did have the illegal benetton like schumi. 2. he caught on fire in the pits in germany. 2. he had good starts in 2000 passing many cars on first lap, due to arrows light fuel strategy every race. 3. he famously rammed montoya, and made a goose of himself in brazil 2001.

how come he is a hero to some people? he didnt achieve anything, and hasnt shown anything in a1gp either. maybe i missed something.

Yes you did.

First after 2, there is 3 and not another 2.
Don't start the 'MS had a illegal Benetton in 94' again.
And his won in Durban in A1GP.

it just makes me wonder that jean alesi has less of a following but so much more talent. i just watched a race with him coming second in a tyrell in 91. he was marvellous those first few years, but went to ferrari and the results didnt equal his talents.

I think Joss is a great driver but never had the luck with his manager .
Look what he did in just an arrows its was great.
But im Dutch so i think my opinion is just how every dutch f1 fan think about it.

A tip how you can make good money with verstappen is

you buy him for what he's really worth and sell him for what he or his manager thinks he's worth
you win a lot of money that way

AdamGilchrist,

You were at Phoenix 91? Great race, where were your grandstand? Could you see Jean Alesi and Ayrton Senna overtakes??

About Jos, I think he is a great driver as I said before, one year before the Juan Pablo Montoya accident (2000) he gave Jenson Button (in a Williams) a hard time, Jenson didn't overtook him on track, just after pitstops they were not near again and I don't know what were their positions after the race. It was nice to see Jenson Button in a superior car trying to overtake Jos Verstappen in the end of the back-straight and couldn't do it (do I need to say I was near the 100 meters board again??, I go there every year since 1997 with 1999 beeing an exception as I satyed on A grandstands that are on the beggining of the start/finish straight), I know it was Jenson rookie season...

He some quite great races, ok that sometimes Arrows did those strange tatics to be on the front group on the early stages and then got behind during the late stages of the race.

He also seemsto be a nice guy, he gives some great interviews.

But like you said I rate Jean Alesi much higher than Jos, but he is not a bad driver...

That was in 1990. Fabulous fight between the two.

jos is ok just need to keep 4 wheels on the car longer and pointing the right way.

he got rushed into f1 to fast and that messed him up.

I said it was 2000, I explained that in 1999 I was on the start-finish straight, but the Verstappen vs Button fight was 2000 on the back-straight....
