Okay I have already deleted one message. Make this a thread about the RA106. Different views are okay, but if you disagree, don't take it to a personal level. Stay on the right side of sensible discussion.

It's only after we've lost everything, that we are free to do anything.

must say things look good for honda think they will be the team up there at the start of the year.

They are meant to have the most powerful engine and the car is meant to be very good

Where did you hear that... about the engine?
The car seems good. But then we dont yet know what other teams are doing.
JPM was 7tenths of Alonso today... a big difference considering the laptimes.

Fair enough.

Today Rubens did long runs. So assuming his best time was set on a long run the Honda is still looking against the other times.

Btw Redbull testing new front wing, bargeboards and reason for the large nose is because of balance problems with the RB01.

Hense why Mclaren and Renault opted for narrower noses this season because of their improved balance and obv the aero gain.

Honda are still pissing about masking their real pace tho - at the end of each test day so far they've sent the drivers out on low fuel to set a quick lap...

regarding people talking about the engine...

"Honda's concern with V8 engine
Looking for more power to take on Cosworth

Although impressive on the test timesheets this winter, reports have identified Honda's V8 engine as a weak point of the RA106 package.

At Jerez on Thursday, Jenson Button continued the trend of recent track sessions, getting his off-white 2006 racer to within a few tenths of the leading Renault.

But Honda's engineering director, Shuhei Nakamoto, admitted in Spain that the Japanese element of the team has identified 'some issues' with the RA806E power plant this week.

"Overall we are in good shape," he said. "We will have some new improvements on the engine next week that we will be running in Bahrain."

Industry analysts believe that Renault has probably done the best job with its 90-degree V8 for 2006, although Cosworth's engine - mounted in the FW28 Williams - is also so far surpassing expectations."

using ChetLogic TM all ferraris since 1999 should have been shite cause they had a wide nose

hmm, i did also wonder about this wide nose logic - the wide nose clearly acts as a larger surface area that produces a little downforce as it travels towards the back of the car - a thinner nose would change the way the air gets to the rear of the car - needing careful control - making the whole car work efficiently. It might be that the McLaren car was not suited to it - thus giving imbalances, but other than reducing body drag, and interference drag on the front wing and allowing more 'clean' air to the back of the car i dont see that much point in it.
