Also, that tyre picture, its really high seeing as though the car was prob doing less than limiter speed (62mph??)!!

the car was doing less than 62, but the wheels would be going faster (wheelspin)

edit: Rear wheels of course... until the tyre gains 100% utilisation of the friction coefficient, the rears will be going faster

I doubt it was tight enough to wheel spin much at all. If it did start wheel-spinning I'm fairly sure it would have stopped as it was all wonky on the hub before it parted.
