Depending of the driver, some can and some others cannot lose too much weight, because it could lead to a consequent deterioration in his fitness or strength. That's Kubica's case, for example (1,85m and is rumored to be sub-70kg).
Rosberg is weighing roughly the same as piquet and is 1,78m tall.
You cant simply lose too much weight and still be 1,80 tall. You're probably not going to be strong enough to cope with the jolts and the forces you can encounter in a F1 cockpit.
Each driver is a different case, simple as that.

Rubinho lost 6kg or so, shame he didn't do it before! And Bruno is right about weight, there's only so much you can do after a certain age, it's just your body. I'm about 2-3cm taller than Bruno (he's about 1.88m) and yet he weighs about 20kg less. If he was in F1 and forced to lose more weight he'd be taken away by any gusts of light wind .

yeh, but Kubica (heavier) and Alonso (same car) both won races last year. Piquet didn't. They are both two factors that are disproved if we are to keep flaming Piquet on his poor performances (which is the only thing we are flaming, not his weight alone!, that would just be silly.. so based on performance flaming).
1) You cant therefore blame the car.
2) you cant therefore blame weight.
oh, and 3) You cant therefore blame height either, at that!
