Screw top speeds. The real test for production cars is which one can lap the Nordschleife quickest. The record is obviously held by a race car, one of the Porsche 956s (Bellof), but I believe the quickest road car to have graced it's twisty turns is a modified Porsche 911 GT2.

Some of the old Porsche 956s that Bell and Ickx drove at Le Mans would hit 240mph down the Mulsanne Straight. I have the video "In-car 956" and as you may have guessed, it is packed with video footage onboard with Derrick Bell taking you round the Nordschleife, Spa, Brands Hatch, Kyalami, and of course - Le Mans. The speed is terrifying as he sprints down the Mulsanne Straight.

The 1500bhp Porsche 917/30 Can-Ams could peak at 250mph. Wow.

Out of all the races in FIA GT series, it won them all excpet le mans, where freak engine failures took all cars out early on.

Yes and if you think Ferrari ordering Barrichello to move out of the way for Schumacher was bad enough, what about in 1997, Schneider actually taking over his (leading!) teammate's car in the middle of the race after his packed up. That pissed me off because I wanted Soper and Lehto to win >
