McLaren F1 Team

McLaren Formula One team has been one of the impressive and consistent teams ever to compete in Formula One. What is really impressive is that they have always been one of the top three teams in the championship during and post Schumacher era. If we compare that to Ferrari who is considered an arc rival to McLaren, they (Ferrari) have been consistent to but not to the extent of McLaren's consistency.

From an engineering aspect as well McLaren have been top notch and have been coming up with some very innovative ideas (things) which Ferrari have been forced to copy. However that point can be argued since there have been certain stuff (especially this season) that McLaren have copied or learnt from Ferrari. Also if we talk about statistics McLaren and Ferrari are way ahead of others, thanks to their long term commitment to Formula One.

What are your thoughts about McLaren's consistency and innovations my friends ?

I would say that over the last 10/15 years Ferrari have brought more "fundamental" revolutions to F1 especially during the Schumacher era which were widely copied by other teams:

Flush bodywork rear exhausts (1998)
Periscope rear exhausts (2002)
Dolphin shape low front nose + "spoon" front wing (2001)
Aerodynamic wheel covers (2006)
Multi-functional steering/display unit (2000)
Sculpted Sidepods (2003)
