Volkswagen considers F1 in 2018

Volkswagen could consider a move in to Formula One in 2018, according to VW's head of motorsport.

Wolfgang Duerheimer has said that a future move in to Formula One was a possibility, despite the company's head of technical development seemingly ruling out such an entry back in March. Volkswagen's stable includes Audi, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, Seat and Skoda, and it is likely that any team would run under one of these names.

Maybe they will buy HRT. I think it's definitely Audi because the "green" and RPM changes were made for them.

I never understand automotive companies making such long term projections for things like this.

They have coming up a complete regulation shuffle. Ideal for a new entrant wanting to begin... The engine formula is almost ideal for the VW group too.
