Senna Helmet Challenge: did someone cheated?

HRT driver Bruno Senna opened a competition on his website asking F1 fans to create an helmet celebrating Ayrton Senna's 50th birthday. The competition closes on 12 September and some days later a short list of five, choosen by Senna and other 4 judges will then be published for the winning design to be chosen through a public vote opened until September 19th. Among the 5 finalists ( of which 2 were Brazilians ) there is Bruno Mantovani, famous for his F1 based comics published on his blog.
Mantovani's design starts very well the competition and on Friday 17th it has about 2000 votes more than the second one. But things suddenly changed: in just one day the second classified design recieves 400 votes, while Mantovani's only one.
However being still first, Mantovani's design was no more with certainty the winning design, as the other design was quickly gaining votes, probably too fast. Bruno discovered that the other candidate was gaining 2 votes per minute, in a too regularly way. At 18h24 the design has 7421 votes. As for 23h59 (competition voting deadline) there were 325 minutes, multipling it for 2 votes per minute, Mantovani publishes the following message on Twitter :"O desenho que neste momento frauda o concurso do capacete tem em sempre 2 votos por minuto. Dessa maneira, ele terá perto de 8073 as 23h59" ("The design that is actually cheating the helmet challenge gains always 2 votes per minute. This way, he will have 8073 votes at 23h59" )
At the end of the competition the winning design has 8892, while Mantovani's only 8093. As the winning design gained more votes in the weekend than in all other days of competition and with an odd regularity Mantovani's suggests the use of a script. This seems proved by a screenshot taken by Bruno at 00h01 that shows that there really was a script in the page, no more working at the end of the competition, before the voting page went offline. Mantovani finally says on his blog "Se a organização diz que não houve violação, eu acato a decisão, mas não aceito como verdade." (If the organization said that there was no violation, I accepted the decision, but not accepted as truth.)
