Brazil’s Interlagos circuit will host the F1 season finale next year instead of Abu Dhabi, the World Motor Sport Council has confirmed today after publishing the calendar for the 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship, which includes one extra grand prix, taking the total to 20 - the biggest ever.
As already announced in September last year, India will join the fold next season, and it will take place between the events in Korea and Abu Dhabi, on October 30 - subject to the homologation of the circuit.
The only other change in relation to this year’s calendar and next, concerns Turkey, which now moves to the start of May and before Spain and Monaco, whereas this year it took place after those events on May 30.
There will be four back-to-back events, one more than in 2010, namely Malaysia-China, Spain-Monaco, Germany-Hungary and Japan-Korea.
