Spa Francorchamps - WIP

Spa Francorchamps could change again next year, and this time drastically. The FIA wouldn't be very happy with the long length of the circuit. To the dissapointment of the fans (who see the cars come by a lot less often than at other circuits) there's never a 'parade lap' after the race. The circuit would get completely changed from Pouhon up to the Busstop Chicane by simply putting down a straight road. The current circuit would remain to exist, but not for F1. So Fagnes, Stavelot and Blanchimont would be scrapped.

There are also talks that corner 11 (Bruxelles) would be redesigned into a slower and less sharp turn. This last change at least seems a very likely scenario. Work is already going in that zone: forest has been cut away and the differences in height has been done away with.

nope sadly it's true...

i think after Nurburgring , Hockenheim etc... many were already having nightmares/waiting for this sooner or later (altough didn't want to say)as a 7km length track is definitely not FIA politic nowadays since they wanna reduce costs

At least it still has some good corners, plus it looks like it'll be another low downforce track, which we're lacking quite a lot.

But none of that can hide the fact that we're one helluva circuit I wouldn't be surprised if some of the people involved in F1 say how they don't like the idea, and maybe the FIA will have second thoughts about it.

This definitely doesn't reduce costs. Teams will run the same distance, race organizers will keep spending heaps of cash. We only lose with this.

If this happens I'm gonna fly over to the person who decided this and personally sh*t in his mouth. The idiot who came up with this must have no sense of racing and history, if he has any sense at all.

actually i wouldnt care to much, its only for f1, luckily the rest of the circuit would remain intact.

@#$%&! Spa produces some of the best racing through out the year and next year would've been a blast with the new rules. Great, now we have @#$%& another "tilke" ruining it again with a straight.

They've already ruined the end of the lap with that last corner rubbish, might as well complete the set.

Agreed, Sniper isn't/wasn't a liar..but I too am an admin of a motorsport news site. I can post MANY rumours which won't be true either :P

If this was actually happening then F1 news sites accross the world would have picked it up long before this. Sorry, don't believe it at all.

sry Dave , before post here i've checked with Steven (aka Bigbrother) who is Belgian, if we could trust in it, he said everyday checks this site and it's a trustable source, as you can see it's a Belgian site (famous in the local) and it's like their autosport there.

also there's as well some ppl saying it's reliable in autosport/pf1 forums etc..
