It sux it isnt in HD yet... Least we can see Greg Rust(y) in HD, but other than that, it still amazes me how far behind technology F1 is... (tv tech i meant)

Soccer managed to have Surround sound and widescreen for the World cup in europe in 06, why not F1!!!

we had a thread on this once before, i think someone said that hd cameras were not small enough to fit in the t-cams yet, that's why we dont have hd coverage yet. hopefully that can be rectified for 2009 though!

Home HD handy cams are small.. im sure they could use them for the time being :P

Im sure the capabilities are there, they are just slow, like with Widescreen.

Not overly fussed, Pic Quality is good atm, so im not holding my breath waiting for HD in 09!

I cant see why you couldn't just have trackside HD cameras, then the onboard just have good sd and either show them in sd or upconvert them to hd.

Im sure the series in the USA use HD. Champcar, cart? Whatever they are called lol.

Yep IRL and NASCAR both have HD and have rotating HD cameras, never mind fixed T-Cams, really F1 have no excuse. I was watching Goodwood Festival of Speed the other day on Discovery HD where they managed to get HD cameras fixed onto old 50's and 60's F1 cars, and you couldn't notice them.

Wow, I wish I knew this was on. How was the coverage?

It was the same as the TEN SD coverage im assuming, i didnt watch it. But we had no pre race show as Rove finished and we cut straight to the parade lap!
