Anyone going this year? I'm going for the second time this year was a very good day out last time. Note that the silverstone website states that you have to buy your tickets in advance and that they are not selling them on the gate for some bizarre reason. Hopefully all the teams will turn up and it'll be a nice sunny three days :).

B****rds. ;-)

What's pricing like for the testing? I might give it a go if I can get some money together this month.

I might go to this, i last went in 2001 when it was free. went to Silverstone on saturday for the renaults, so i should find it ok on my own.

Does anyone reckon its worth having the hospitality option? [www.silverstone.co.uk]

Yup I went to testing in 06 when it was free but now the bas***** are charging money!
Cool, I also went down on Saturday to watch the renault world series. Was great, free access to paddock bit behind the pits!! Wish F1 was like that ;)

Not sure about the hospitality, never tried it except it sounds good with access to pit lane and you get the chance to view the cars exiting the pit lane. They slow down/stop sometimes for you to grab a pic!

Maybe the wrong thread, but no need to make another...

Are Honda possibly testing an early version of their KERS ? Or is this just something normal?

could well be chet, looks rather heavy to be something 'normal', unless its a tool of some sort to check various setup parameters

Seems pretty tight to be charging - do they do that at other test sessions in other countries?

Anyway, slightly OT, looking forward to Silverstone, its gonna be this 14yr olds first GP!

Read an interview on atlasf1 from Brawn and nothing indicated they were going to run it as early as this test ... these devices are on front and rear ...

another wild guess is that if they're testing it, could be testing the possible wieght it would add on an unsprung mass???

Yes they do charge for admission in other venues for F1 testing, usually about 5 Euros as far as I know.

Silverstone always used to be free, I think it's only last year that they started charging after they got less testing due to the teams restriction agreements etc.

Mind you, I haven't been on the public side now for quite some time.

First day today...

Honda testing a new nose aswell similar winglets to BMW at the rear.

Best way to describe is that it looks like its been left out in the sun too long at Magny and has drooped a little :p

I at least this is is enough to give JB some confidence... have to say he is losing it this season, he said it himself at france its very unlike him to be involved in so many incidents, and its hard to say they werent his fault.. those Alonso rumours could have some substance! the guy needs to up his pace and stop making mistakes though.
