With Kimi Raikkonen’s win in last weekend’s Chinese Grand Prix, Ferrari became the first team to score 200 Formula One victories, establishing them as the founder members of what is likely to remain a pretty exclusive club - at least for the foreseeable future.

As the only constructor to have participated in every world championship since its inception back in 1950 (their first victory came courtesy of Jose Froilan Gonzalez in the 1951 British Grand Prix), Ferrari have a pretty healthy lead over their nearest competitors in the all-time winners’ league. Here’s the top ten…

1. Ferrari (1950 - present):
Races - 757
Wins - 200
Pole positions - 194
Fastest laps - 204
Podium places - 601
Drivers’ championships - 14
Constructors’ championships - 15

2. McLaren (1966 - present):
Races - 629
Wins - 156
Pole positions - 133
Fastest laps - 133
Podium places - 417
Drivers’ championships - 11
Constructors’ championships - 8

3. Williams (1975 - present):
Races - 498
Wins - 113
Pole positions - 125
Fastest laps - 129
Podium places - 294
Drivers’ championships - 7
Constructors’ championships - 9

4. Lotus (1958 - 1994):
Races - 491
Wins - 79
Pole positions - 107
Fastest laps - 71
Podium places - 172
Drivers’ championships - 6
Constructors’ championships - 7

5. Brabham (1962 - 1987, 1989 - 1992):
Races - 394
Wins - 35
Pole positions - 39
Fastest laps - 41
Podium places - 124
Drivers’ championships - 4
Constructors’ championships - 2

6. Renault (1977-1985, 2002 - present):
Races - 226
Wins - 33
Pole positions - 50
Fastest laps - 27
Podium places - 90
Drivers’ championships - 2
Constructors’ championships - 2

7. Benetton (1986 - 2001):
Races - 260
Wins - 27
Pole positions - 15
Fastest laps - 36
Podium places - 102
Drivers’ championships - 2
Constructors’ championships - 1

8. Tyrrell (1970 - 1998):
Races - 430
Wins - 23
Pole positions - 14
Fastest laps - 20
Podium places - 77
Drivers’ championships - 2
Constructors’ championships - 1

9. BRM (1951, 1956 - 1977):
Races - 197
Wins - 17
Pole positions - 11
Fastest laps - 15
Podium places - 61
Drivers’ championships - 1
Constructors’ championships - 1

10. Cooper (1950 - 1969):
Races - 129
Wins - 16
Pole positions - 11
Fastest laps - 14
Podium places - 58
Drivers’ championships - 1
Constructors’ championships - 2

I don´t know if this ranking is fine. What do you think?

PD: Do someone why Brabham doesen´t ran in 1988?

top 4 was pretty obvious, but that is quite a gap to mclaren, but given mclaren and williamses race numbers they are still impressive, williams more so than mclaren.

i thought that chet, but i looked at percentage of races started won, and got

Ferrari - 26.4%
Mclaren - 24.8%
Williams - 22.7%
Lotus - 16%
Brabham - 8.9%
Renault - 14.6%
Benetton - 10.4%
Tyrrell - 5.3%
BRM - 8.6%
Cooper - 12.9%

so Ferrari have won 1 in 4 races, thats quite impressive! also shows how dominant those 3 teams have been.

and well impressed with Coopers win %

I remember back in the 2000 season when McLaren, Ferrari and Williams were practically tied in race wins. Now after Schumacher's snooze-fest from 2000-2004, they have been able to almost double what they had at the beggining of the decade. Impressive.

Says it all about Lotus looking at that pole to win conversion rate.

Renault's too is poor, but they did come into F1 pioneering the turbo, and of course that was stupidly quick most of the time and equally unreliable.

Chet, Brabham missed 1988 as they were changing ownership. Read into that what you will, but their finances were never in a strong position, fading more and more as the years went by.

Bernie sold the team at the end of 1987 as he could see a sinking ship and wanted rid of it. Still had a good 1989 season compared with 86-87 but then went into a sharp decline.

Ron Dennis 7 (84,85,88,89,90,91,98)

And what a year 1988 was for races wins ;-)

But yeah, sim that is impressive! Ferrari have won just over more than a quarter of the races they have entered, and Mclaren a little under!

About Lotus's poless/win coversion rate, I wonder how many of those pole posistions were Sennas...

@chet /about lotus/pp question

less than you think only in 85 and 86 senna was the pole king in 87 in fact he got only one pole.
don't have the data right now because I'm not at home, but I would say no more than 17 poles were senna's

The '87 Lotus had active suspension, the first F1 car to have it. Because of that the car was heavy and the system still in it's infancy, was far from perfect. It suited the tight street circuits far better than the fast ones, it helped to have the Honda engine of course.
Senna was lucky that he got the 1 pole that year as the Williams cars were so much better. The Mclaren and Ferrari were faster too but not as reliable.

The main issue senna had in 87 was consumption problem. If there was no consumpt.problems senna could have been wc.

I listed his Mclaren poles too, just to see what % of their poles belonged to him, but I only did it up until the end of 1990.

No, the car just wasn't fast enough. That applies more to his '85 season but the Renault engine wasn't that reliable either.

@Chet, I do not have anything against you, infact I like you very much. But please do ask yourself before you post: will my post be understandable to half-crazed twat of hispanic/indian/gypsy origin who never (except in school) spoke english (only writen).

because It seem that there is always five-six words missing in your posts. And it only leads to misunderstanding.

@mikef1, why did he ran out of fuel than on several occasions during 1987 on the last lap ,while in the lead or second/third place, and eventually finished 5th or out of points

He never ran out of fuel in 1987. He ran out of fuel in '85 at Silverstone, in 1986 at Portugal and in 1991 he ran out of fuel at Silverstone and Hockenheim and again at Silverstone in 1992. Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

Jerez 1987 definately I watched It LIVE -would you beleive, was only seven at the time, but I can remenber it was senna who was at top three and than finished fifth. I think there were few more occasions that season but I'm not sure at the moment, I'll check when I got home.
