2005 regulations for use in FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile) recognised forms of motorsport.
Section E
PROCEDURE FOR CONTROL OF DRUGS AND ALCHOHOL
9.1.2.
Doping is defined as:-
1) The use by, or distribution to a competitor of substances contained within section 1 of the International Olympic Committee Medical Code Prohibited Classes of Substances and Prohibited Methods for the time being in force and/or
2) The use or adoption by a competitor of any of the procedures contained within section II of the said code and/or
3) The use or consumption by a competitor of such drugs or substances as are contained within section III of said code... etc.

Basically the important part there is in number 1 which talks about section 1 of the IOC banned substances. Lets take a look at what's in this then shall we?
A. Stimulants
B. Narcotics
C. Anabolic Agents
D. Diuretics
E. Peptide and glycoprotein hormones and analogues
F. Marijuana (Cannabis)
Oh would you look at that!? What is D.? Diuretics. What is caffeine? A diuretic.
