Christian Klien has been released from his contract at Red Bull. Robert Doornbos will replace him for the last three races.

It's the same as it was with Montoya. They've released him so he can get himself sorted for next season. Redbull knew he wasn't going to be there, Klien knew he wasn't going to be there so it's probably best for both parties.

He has been linked to the Spyker team.

Red Bull and him agreed to let him go to find another drive after he declined their help in getting him a drive in Champ Car, which was very sporting of Red Bull to help him that much.

Pah, when a driver intends to stay in F1, offering to ship him out of sight to Champ Car is hardly great help.

as opposed to giving him the boot with no help at all like most other teams would?

"as opposed to giving him the boot with no help at all like most other teams would?"

So you seriously believe that a detour to Champ Car will be helpful for Klien's F1 future?

At what point did I say that a move like that was either good or bad for his career?

I said that its good that even though he has been replaced and is out of the Red Bull team, they still tried to find a seat for him when it looked like there were no seats available for him in F1.

Time will tell if Klien made the right decision,
but in the meantime my favorite dutch driver is back
Let's hope RedBull gives him wings in the last 3 races to score some points

Klien?

Well.. I didnt rate him as much as Red Bull did when the season started. He's just a decent driver, good enough for a drive at Super Nintendo Aguri... No offence to the austrians, but they deserve someone to be at least in the same level as Gerhard Berger did.

But I was curious to watch and analyze Doornbos performance in a race, cos I think he has some potential to be easily better than Verstappen!

Well, good luck to klien, though spyker team doesnt seem to have credentials to convince me that they'll perform better than the Midlands... OK, MF1 performance is crap and its a hard thing to perform worse than that (exception: the S-N-A's), but heh, lets see if they can challenge the four Red Bulls infront of them and keep Super Nintendo Aguri behind them...

I am also curious about his performance in a better car but I dont think he will be easily better then Verstappen because Verstappen is a unique driver which had not much luck when he was driving F1, But I think Robert can show us some special things these last 3 races
Guess its really the ''Year of the test drivers'' ;);-)
