Gotta say I'm very impressed not only by his 3rd place at Monza but also by his consistent top 10 qualifying.

All the talk of Mclaren getting de le Rosa for '07 or Hamilton or Paffett but if I controlled who goes where I'd stick Kubica straight in a Macca for '07.

Discuss!

Hamilton just said that he wants to spend a year testing at McLaren, so it looks like it'll go down to either Paffet or De La Rosa...I'd lean towards Pedro...anyway, I think Kubica will be a BMW driver next year...

Well BMW would be stupid to let their future wonder boy go.

Everyone has one.

Ferrari - Kimi
Mclaren - Alonso/Lewis.
Renault - Kovovovovoovolain. or whatever.
Honda - Jense.
Williams - Rosberg
Redbull - Dornboss/Luizzi.

The rest dont matter :P Any of those teams would be dumb to get rid of any of those drivers. ALL drivers which are good, bar Hamilton because we have yet to see him do an Official F1 test.

I haven't seen Hamilton say he wants to test for the year... he actually said on ITV that he wanted Perdos cockpit...

I think Kubica is a great prospect, his performance in Hungary, considering his lack of experience in those conditions and his great drive at Monza, show he could well be race winner in the future.

yeah as Keiran said, Lewis in a live interview while standing in front of the McLaren garage said he wanted Pedro's seat for next year.

and James or Martin (can't remember which) said Kubica could go to McLaren.

RIP Jules, never to be forgotten. #KeepFightingMichael

It's on globoesporte.globo.com, though it's all in portuguese.

[globoesporte.globo.com]

A rough translation of what Hamilton said would be: "I want to be test pilot for McLaren next year, where I have been at already for the past 7 years. I would be happy with this, knowing that a year later, I'd have a full seat. It would be a good opportunity to know the car, fell the way the team works and get to know the circuits. There's no difference between this, and driving for a small team. Racing with Alonso would be more than a challenge."

Anyway, I don't know if it's really true, but it's there, and most of the times, Globo is right. They hinted that Piquet would move to Renault, 2 months before the deal happened. They also had the Webber thing pretty much nailed down, as they said he should be going either to Renault or Red Bull.

Thumbs up for Kubica !!! :)

Seems to have a lot of talent, I was disappointed when BAR replaced JV with Sato :S, but this time BMW put a very good driver there, I think he can beat Heidfield easily in 2007 :)

You are right Chet, most teams have a protected driver, KICK Trulli and Ralph ;)

Doornbos was no faster in testing yesterday than a guy that has done nothing in gp2 and never driven an f1 car lol

And what does that tell you about F1 cars.

I read yesterday that Martin Whitmarsh basically said that Pedro will finish the season, but he won't have the race seat next year. McLaren don't like having both drivers come from the same country, and as they already have Alonso in 1 car...work it out.

I believe that Lewis Hamilton will test sometime this week or next before the China GP.

As for Kubica, yes he is a blinding talent. Blessed with quick pace, speed and an ability to keep his nose clean and out of trouble on the track. Add that to BMW's good reliabilty and he could go somewhere.

Laters,
