2004 ferrari with a v10 engine should have been faster really, but never seen the track.

would love to see him in f1, dont think he should go str8 to ferrari though

Join Ferrari as a race driver or a test driver? Test driver would be a good option if he's really interested and motivated. Wouldnt wanna see him wrecking his career by making the jump straight to a race position, trying to handle all the pressures of being an Italian at Ferrari for starters...

Yes f2004 with v10 is about 1 sec faster than 2006 car (Ferrari said); but what? never seen the track? of course he has!!

Why not? He's been doing it right now albiet part time. I meant a full time testing role for atleast a year or 9 months.

i mean he would never go into a full time testing role, anyway it wasnt really testing, it was ferrari trialing him.

well I dont think they would need to trial him half a dozen times or how many ever times he's driven for them now? either way, if he puts in more miles in one off tests like this over the year he might be race driver material but otherwise cant see him being too successful. he might prove me wrong cause I mean he's good but I dont believe he's that good even ;)

well in the ferrari slump years when brawn todt and schummi leave, ferrari are predicted to go into a small recession. a flambuoyant italian in the team might temporarily be enough to keep the jolly ship flag flowing until their cars back on scratch form and kimi's on board.

Apparently it wasn't a V10, it was the old 2004 V10 with two cylinder's chopped off, probably a wee bit quicker than the 2006 car, but he did a good job never the less.

i was going to say a similar thing, once Ross Brawn, Toady, Bryne, and Schumacher leave then Ferrari will struggle.

I dont think anyone is capable of making an impact for a few years, especially trying to replace that lot!!

But what the what they left will remain for a long time.
It could be said this sucess is their legacy.

They will be leaving the bare bones, wheres the legacy in that?

Once the so called dream team have disbanded what do Ferrari have left?

if you breed a chicken then eat it for dinner what u have left is the bones, the meat is gone and theres nothing left to pass on for the next meal.

if there is some, itll be slightly off for the next day and second hand.

the current ferrari's work is only as good as the season they design it for with all these rule changes. the only legacy to pass on is the skills to the next generation of designers and engineers.

well they have a fantastically organized setup there in Maranello. obviously its gonna be near impossible to replace someone like Schumacher but there's always going to be young talented men going to be coming in. They maybe back down into the midfield for a couple years but highly doubt with their resources they'll stay there.

Whats to say that the " fantastic" setup you speak of is no different to what renault or Mclaren have?

I'd like nothing more than to see Williams be back on top, but i'm a realist, its not a case of just replacing people.

Ferrari did'nt win a world title for 20 odd years, until the brawn, todt, bryne, schumacher era.

It may or may not be different from Renault or Mclaren. Lets see if they can do it 5 years in a row ;) Its not just those individuals upfront who do it for you singlehandedly 5 yrs in a row. It needs a lot of other people and resources behind the scenes too and theyre not going to disappear over night when the big-shots retire.

The whole reason they did it for 5 years in row was because of the package of Todt,Brawn,Bryne, Schumacher

They were the catalyst of it

why didnt ferrari dominate before they arrived at marenello then?
