Do you mean how the Williams front wing is split into three parts, with each part higher up and further back than the previous one? I really doubt Williams, being such an experienced team would deliberately break the rules in such an obvious way.

Could be wrong, but I thought you were allowed as many wing elements as you like at the front. There's a restricted space you're allowed to put them in, but within it, it's as many elements as you like. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I thought that was the rear that only could have max of 2 wing elements

If I remember right, they had a ground effect car with six wheels (2 at the front, 4 at the rear), a strange body shape including a flat undertray, continuously variable transmission, and a whole host of banned electronic driver aids, including TC, LC, active suspension, the works. They ran a simulation and they reckoned it would do Silverstone in under a minute, or something ridiculous like that.

the car has 5 wings at the front, correct?
Isnt it if the wings are attatched to the endplate they count as 'wings'
So Williams have 5 each side. And i believe there is a limit of 4 lol.

3 elements, and the other little bits are technically part of the endplates, so don't count even if there is a limit.

i just found some more info...
and to be classed as a wing element the wing has to stretch from either side or be in between two elements.
hense why BARs 3rd wing was illegal last year.
