Apparently old Jenson will drive for Williams next season despite all the speculation.

Williams certain Jenson is heading his way

Frank Williams has insisted that Jenson Button will join Williams next season if BAR fail to reach the points clause in Jenson

What a strong Williams line up it will be in 2006. Nick and Mark as race drivers and Jenson as test driver. Congrats!

I'm sure Jenson has an option on where he'll be in 2006. If Williams don't have the engine then he might not want to go. On the other hand, Williams is a great team (or was - imo) and that could be attractive to him.

Only time will tell.

I think Button is an idiot personally to even consider leaving BAR for Williams...

Williams are on the downfall I reckon. I think they should get the Cossies. BAR are static and will do nicely for Button. Doubt they will challenge McLaren or Renault next year, but they'll be more competitive than Team Willy.

BAR static?

considering the whole foundation of the team (BAT) is disappearing very soon, they aren't that safe. and honda have more options than sticking with BAR.
i'm not the only one (just the first :p) thinking they'll go with williams.

I think Honda are pretty well cemented with BAR. I think after a year like this, they can only improve, and the car has good speed. BAR would probably be the best option outside of a Renault (the Alonso seat :P) or a McLaren.

Its possible Honda may supply Williams, but why leave the works team and go for the customer?

Besides, why get your butt kicked by Webber when you can kick Sato's in return?

honda havent bought BAR. They only own 45% not the entire team.

and I dont think Jenson will have much of a say on where he wants to be. According to the contract,Williams have the biggest say on whether they want him or not. And judging from this it looks like FW is pretty interested in his services alongside Webbo. 2nd seat at BAR will be quite an interesting one to watch though. Dont think it'll be Rubens filling it up though, since he's contracted to ferrari 2006. Wouldnt mind seeing some upcomer like Heikki K. in the BAR though.

Oh pu-lease, Mark Webber kicking Jenson's butt? Have you been WATCHING F1 this year? :p Mark has been completely OWNED by Nick Heidfeld, and I defy anyone to try and twist the statistics to prove otherwise.

Jenson has a lot of hype, most of which is unnecessary and untrue, but a certain amount of it is correct - he is the same as Damon Hill; not a very quick driver, but quick enough, and very smooth.

Webber has just had a lot of bad luck this year. I think once he starts to actually geta decent car and luck going his way, he'll do better. Theres much more potential I think.

If I was Williams, I'd be trying to keep Heidfeld instead of Button. Webber/Heidfeld are a good combo.

well, technically its almost impossible to do worse, so getting better i slikely.
i think redBull have more potential for next year, and of course toyota - they could well be in the top tier next year.

why go with williams? because they have 30+ years of history, multiple titles in the past, and alot of that has been with frank and patrick.
frank will be looking at retiring soon, and i'm sure if he had the choics of going with cosworth and becoming another jordan, or going with honda and having one last go at championships, but with a promise to sell all in 5 years, i think he'd choose the latter.
and to be honst BAR have been a disappointmetn from day 1. apart from last year it has all been bad. time for honda to cut their losses maybe?

webber - haha. he couldn't kick the side of a barn :p

of course if this happens then we'll have 9 teams, so hopefullly with the new fia boss they make it easier for teams to get in. it would be great to see arden or somone similar get into f1. even (and perhaps especially?) if they just compete with minardi that would be great.
