Interesting tidbit on Indy and Tires...

Apparently Indy has been diamond ground since 2003, and it did not efffect the angle of the banking of the surface nor did it significantly effect tire wear. In fact the current surface is said to be less severe on tire wear than it previously was. The info was apparently available to any who were interested in it.

This being the case Michelin's complete fiasco becomes even more difficult to understand. What the hell do they make their tires out of anyway at Michelin? Vinyl maybe?
