Big day for the European Touring Car Champion

The BMW WilliamsF1 Team confirmed that Andy Priaulx, the reigning European Touring Car Champion, has been extended an invitation to test on 27th January

The invitation has been made in recognition of his achievements in the BMW 320i in the 2004 FIA Touring Car Championship. The award was made in December 2004 at the BMW Motorsport Party and Award Ceremony.

BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen, said,

he's a driver that ive been following since back in the days when he and phil bennett battled in the renault spyder cup, he never got the real single seater break he deserved so it will be nice to see him drive the williams

Its a reward from BMW for landing the title in ETCC

no ones expecting him to challenge Pizzonia or Heidfeld for the second vacant seat


its nice to see that BMW are prepared to reward him for his efforts
