in his first f3000 season he was pretty feck damn awesome, and the rest of his career proves his quality

Due to the voting system in Germany, Governments are always made up of coalitions of different parties. At the last election, an almost unprecidented result saw the CDU/CSU (rough equivilant of the Conservatives) go into Government with the SPD (rough equivilant of Labour)

Just hope it's the race seat that he sits in during '05 rather than testing. I rate Nick highly, I'm sure he'll keep Mark honest.

If he does get this Williams drive then we'll all be able to know what he sounds like aswell, lol :p. I think he's the quiet underrated guy in F1 who just needs a decent car to prove his worth....always been that way since he joined F1 really. Good luck Nick!

Apparently it's going to be a proper shootout today between Heidfeld and Pizzonia, so we may well know who's driving for Williams by this afternoon, as long as there's a big enough gap between the two of them.

From PlanetF1.com:
The battle for Williams' final race-seat for the 2005 season is going down to the wire with Antonio Pizzonia and Nick Heidfeld set to take part in a "shoot-out" at Jerez on Friday.
Both drivers have already been on track for Williams during the Grove team's winter programme, however, they have yet to come against one another. Instead they've been taking turns to share the driving duties with Mark Webber, who has already been confirmed for next year.

Pizzonia and Heidfeld, though, will finally get the chance to go head-to-head on Friday, the penultimate day of the year's final test programme. And whoever comes out on top will more than likely be named as Williams' second 2005 driver, while the other is expected to become their official tester.

"We will have Pizzonia in one car and Nick in the other," Williams co-owner Patrick Head told Speed TV.

"It's going to be a real shoot-out, but such is life. It's going to be very interesting."

But while Head is looking forward to the battle, a Williams spokesman has tried to downplay the significance of Friday's action.

"We are continuing our process of evaluating Nick and seeing how he stacks up against Antonio," he told Reuters.

"The two will be on the track at the same time but we know already pretty much what Antonio is capable of. We have also got components to test and we still have a work load to deal with."

He added: "It's not just about driver evaluation."
