Just seen this on the BBC Sport website:

What was unique about Gerhard Berger's win in the Italian Grand Prix in the 1988 Formula One season?

A clue will appear at 4pm.

I know it was the only win by another car other than McLaren that year, but is there anything else it may be?

well that's the unique thing about it :)
perhaps that it was a ferrari 1-2 a couple of weeks after enzo ferrari died

...And maybe Jean-Louis Schlesser only GP in a Williams-Judd instead of Mansell who was recovering of a accident (I think...).

Schlesser have a accident in the race when he was being lapped by Ayrton Senna when he was leading the race. They both retire...

It was also the last Ferrari F1 victory with a turbo engine. Can't think of anything else of any significance.

Here's one then:
What was so significant about Nigel Mansell winning the 1989 Brazilian GP apart from the fact it was his first race and first win for Ferrari?

was it the introduction of the first gear shift selection (semi automatic gear box) on the steering wheel? (mansell question)

LS's Tip of the week
ESSENTIAL OILS aren't essential unless you're an engine, a gearbox or a twat

I dunno.... first time someone qualified on pole having gone out first in that session??

Did Rubens do that?

Why not??!!

Don't make statements you ain't willing to back :)

BTW The answer to the original question re 1988 Italian GP was that it was the only race not won that year by either Prost or Senna.

Bit too easy for the like of us I think!

jon hindhough

Doesn't he do all the 'presenting' so-to-speak? I remember listening to him I think through the Silverstone weekend.
