The Argentines certainly showing they have what it takes... though they just strolled the 2nd half.

Côte d'Ivoire really deserved to win, argentina made 2 lucky goals and that was it. And that referee really sucked Ah. To be honest argentina plays very bad, if they make it to 2 second round they are going to be smashed back to argentina.

Argentina didn't play a good match, but starting with a victory is surely an important thing. Côte d'Ivoire was a much more stronger team than i thought they would be.

Saviola was our best player today, and Abbondanzieri, who has been critiziced by the press (argentinian press at least) during the past few days, did fairly well too.

They didnt played that bad. they played really Clean.. Not many changes, but they have won.
I think they are very strong..

I like the way Argentina played, OK they were a little less effective in the second half but so were England earlier in the day, and I'd say Argentina looked stronger than England.

Holland had best be sweating now, Cote d'Ivoire are gonna be menacing. That's a match I'm looking forward to. And let's not forget, Serbia & Montenegro could spring a surprise this afternoon. I'll be flicking between GP and footy.

You don't have to flick between gp and footy, because the gp starts at 1300 and the match starts at 1500.

Yeah, I discovered this when I turned on the programme at 1200 to watch the GP build-up, and was quite shocked to see them all on the starting grid lol

I had fun seeing Côte d´Ivoire pressing so much, shame they don´t have a good defense though, just lots of will and confidence upfront.

believe it or not, i want brazil to be 1st in the group (as long as argentina is 1st too), because that way (or being both 2nd) they would meet at the final

I sort of want that too, for us both to meet in the final (with Brazil winning the group stage as well, of course). But the thing is, I also want Brazil to beat Italy, England, Germany and France . It´s just that we played so many times before and in the Confederation´s Cup final as well (good memories eh? ) so it isn´t a surprise anymore. Of course it would be awesome, the biggest rivalry meeting in the biggest stage for footy :D. I just wish Brazil would play teams like Italy and those others more often, should make for some good games most of the time.

Italy: final in USA '94
England: quarter finals in Korea-Japan '02
Germany: final in Korea-Japan '02
France: well, final in France '98, but i guess you weren't really happy then

Confederations Cup is such an irrelevant tournament, you're are the only one who cares about it... :P

it's been 16 years since Argentina met Brazil in a World Cup, and, oh well, we won , but it was round of 16, now there's a chance for them to meet at the final
