I was just interested in people's opinions on the upcoming Race of Champions in London - do you think it's overly expensive given it's such a huge venue to get decent seats we are expected to fork out over £55. Has anyone been to previous RoCs and impressions to share ?

I've already bought my tickets and I'm looking forward to it.

But yes it is a rip off. 70 quid for my ticket. And just as a final slap in the face Wembley doesn't have any parking.

Good to see us tax payers paid for quality stuff here.

The stadium's got its own tube stop. Why would you want to park right near the stadium? Find a tube station on your way into London, park up, and tube in.

Yeah. Either if you live in Wembley walk, or get a train to Kings Cross or whatever and get the tube to Wembley.

Because the UK Public transport is unreliable and smells like piss. And why get the tube when you can use your own car?

I think the government are trying to cut down on carbon emissions. Virtually forcing the public to get public transport if they want to go to Wembeley. I have been to London only once, and when I went on the tube, it was to crowded and you barely had any room to breath, not good for claustrophobic people like me.

I was on a train out of Marylebone station once, which ran parallel to the tube line going to Amersham. What I found funny was that the tube train we overtook seemed jam packed, and the train I was on was damn near empty. Oh the irony of travelling in London...

Hehe, that's bollocks. They only care about carbon emissions when it's in their own interests - ie votes. They just want to reduce congestion in such a way that only the rich can afford to drive, or be chauffeured, in London. Kinda like that new high speed link to France. The rest of the countries railways are totally @#$%&, but as long as important business people can get to mainland Europe in double quick time, then everything is good with the world.

There are two tube stops pretty much next to the stadium. Good job they took a typical TfL decision when we went to see Muse, and closed the nearest one when we came out ;)

The stadium itself has a massive car park, for coaches...

i imagine if they did have a carpark for cars it would cost an unbelievable amount.

Commuting into London by car is a fools errand anyway.... ;) The best way I've found is by train. Only problem is the tube.... so many people!

Well there's always the massive ASDA car park just next to the station for desperate people... ;)

It's a new ruling about stadia I think, something like "80% of people must arrive to the event using public transport".

youve obviously never been to Wembley for a major event, the tube stations are so small for such a big venue and takes aaages to get out.

Interested if you have been recently - Wembley Park Tube has just been rebuilt to cope with the new stadium, and i'd be disappointed if after all that effort it is still a bit difficult to use. Wembley Stadium Station should be upgraded too...

This is why ROC should be in Cardiff...
It hosts the rally brilliantly, and then you are literally slap bang in the middle of the town when you come out of the Millenium Stadium.
Wembley is a failure imo.
