Long time forum reader - first time posting.

From V8 Supercars.com today :

The Holden Racing Team will be on the starting grid for round two of the V8 Supercar Championship Series in Perth next weekend.

Skaife Sports and governing body Touring Car Entrants Group Australia (TEGA) have reached agreement in principle to a financial settlement that will see the team have their licences to race reinstated upon signing of a deed of release early next week.

The agreement was reached by both parties today after weeks of complex legal scrutiny to ensure that Skaife Sports is compliant with the ownership and control provisions of the Team’s Licence Agreement (TLA).

TEGA Chairman Kelvin O’Reilly: “Conditional upon TEGA’s approval of certain agreements, TEGA will be satisfied that the Team will be compliant with the relevant provisions of the TLA in the future.

Looks like we'll have a great championship this year after all !!

good news for skaife and HRT tho

Sounds like cash has exchanged hands...

Good news though. TEGA have obviously realised that losing HRT would be a big PR disaster for the sport.

Paul Radisich back for TKR.

Seems that PR will be back in the car for round 2 after managing the same lap times as Adam Macrow today. Great to see him back after his horrendous crash at Bathurst last year - always comes across as a likeable kinda guy.
Still think it'll be Todd Kelly for champ this year tho !

It was Radisich that went head on into an embankment didn't he? Mega bump that one, good to see he's back.

Will be interesting to see if this drama has effected HRT. I would imagine Skaife maybe a little off the boil this weekend, but hopefully Todd's been able to remain focussed.

Lowndes probably needs to step it up this weekend if he's going to challenge for the title- all the other big guns eg the Kellys, Courtney, Ingall, Tander- got reasonable starts.

New cars for '08:

HRT - holy crap!! Bit of a change from previous years:




"Both drivers praised the team’s aggressive new livery. “I think it’s the best look we’ve had for a long, long time in terms of the styling of the car,” Skaife said.

Tander agreed. “They have a subtle, classy, angry look about them,” he said. “They certainly don’t look weak, they look very tough and very smart as well. If the old adage is true that a good-looking race car is a fast race car, then we’re looking good already.”



Team BOC has switched to Holden and has a nice, clean new livery:

ohh like the boc cars hopefully they will go good for a chnage. HRT is crap dont like the dayglo orange and white it doesnt fit got back to the navy blue. also i dont like these new wheels everyones getting

The HRT car looks crap with the orange. If they went to the red and have the lion as black, it would look awesone

I like the Irwin car - Autobarn car looks crap.

Interesting that car numbers have moved onto the rear windows now...

the JD one is nice interesting to see wot djr bring out cause i liked it last year

Like the irwin and jd ones too, but the rest do look gay, especially the vodafone nicked from mclaren and @#$%& it up completely one.
