Hi people I didn't want to start a complete new topic so here goes

I currently have GP3 installed on this system it is a dual boot XP/7

GP3 works absolutely fine on the XP side of the dual boot, but rubbish on windows 7

it installs and opens from the disc but once in the game the PO is on average 300% :@

I would looovvve to know why this is

I tried running on both XP SP3 Compatibiltiy Mode, XP SP2 Com Mode and Windows 98 Com Mode but none helped.

I also tried run as an administrator

I tried running in 256 colours

I tried running in 640x 480 800x600 1024x768 and the one above that :P

I tried 'disabling visual themes'
I tried ' disabling desktop composition'

I tried 'disable display scaling on high DPI'

i tried changing the gpxpatch processor settings to 'all' 0, 1 , 2 and 3, and debug mode off, and low, high and medium'

I am completely at a loss as to what the problem is, dont get me wrong the game & gpxpatch loads but 300 % PO is outrageous tbh considering I get 20-40% PO on the Windows XP side of my dual boot.

anybody with experience of GP3 in windows 7 got any ideas to help??

o my pc specs if it helps :P

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
AMD Phenom 9500 Quad-Core 2.20 GHz
4GB RAM
Nvidia 7300 GS Video Card

thanks so much in advance for any help!

only thing that springs to mind is the windows 7 driver for the NVidia card - have you tried using the latest one from the NVidia site? or have you tried using a legacy Vista driver? GP3 should work fine on 7 - other people have had success with it... Since the hardware is identical, only thing it can really be is a driver issue - have you had similar issues with any other games??

ah - are you running GPxPatch in debug mode? I've had an issue on Vista with debug mode causing horrendous PO issues

have you tried setting the 3D quality settings to 'performance' in the NVidia control panel? Clutching at straws now i'm afraid! - did you also try my suggestion of using the Vista NVidia driver? (can be a faff - you need to completely uninstall all the previous NVidia drivers before you do this...) Vista drivers work fine - i had to run some retro ATi drivers on my rig not long ago, because the windows 7 ones were being weird with rfactor for whatever reason...

Well, I've problem with GP3 and Windows 7. I've installed game, 1.13 patch and that no-cd.exe...

I have gp3edit 1.13 and gp3 master 1.1. When I try to export carset to game it says something like: "Failed to patch Grand Prix 3 files." Does anyone have any idea where is the problem? I know windows 7 isn't good with gp3, but...:-o

You need to run GP3 Edit / GP3 Master as an administrator otherwise W7 wont let it alter files.
