The Catholic Church does in fact celebrate Jesus' death... That's what Good Friday is all about. I'm not gonna start preaching here but the idea behind Good Friday (notice it's GOOD Friday?) is thta Jesus went into heavan to cleanse us of our sins. And that's something we celelbrate.
