Better graphics/ frame-rate

I have a 1ghz amd Athlon processor with 128mb ram and a NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64. I run GP3-2000 on 800 by 600 resolution so I can get a decent frame rate but crappy graphics. Obviously this can't go on.
The thing is which would make the most difference, getting a better graphics card or getting more ram? I would like GP3-2000 and even the upcoming GP4 to run on 1028 by 768 (or whatever it is) with a good frame rate, because the graphics are good enough on that resolution anyways.

Cheers,

Cai

Graphics.

RAM will help your loading times a lot, and might improve the performance of Windows. But if you're wanting to do a lot of gaming, get a great graphics card.

And I found GP3-2000 is runnable in 1200x1024! It runs rather slowly, though!

Am I totally @#$%& for GP4 or what?

I've only got a pIII 500mhz
192Mb RAM
VooDoo3 3500

Still GP3 1.13 runs with a PO of about 60 on 800x600 with everything but trackside objects in the mirrors.

no ur not F***** but u will only be able to play @ 640 x 480 and low detail settings. My advice to u would be buy a cheap geforce 3 or maybe put a cheap celeron 1.2 GHz on it.

Firstly, sorry for the language, I thought it would get ***** out.

Anyway, what is my best option, a new graphics card or a new processor. I probably can't do both for reasons of £££.

Cheers

There is a list over the official minimum and recommended requirements for somewhere on this jungle. I think its the gp4 forum. But lets calm down, and save the panic for the days just before the release date. Even if GP3 was way off the listed specs, GP4 might just be require what is listed.
