belini gp4 to gp32k magny cours

OK maybe I've got it!
I've checked the Magny Cours 2003's (the one reworked by me) size AFTER the injection of the converted MD file and you know what? it is 140.168 bytes, wich means 168 bytes more than the max size limit. THANK YOU Ajayrious
Obviously Cmagic increases the size of the .dat file; more or less, it depends on the lenght of the MD, wich means the lenght of the bump table + the unessential strings. Silly me, I should have tought about it, yet!
Maybe we can have it to work by removing the captions. For the moment, Jacki or anyone having problems like him, restore the tracks as they are in their original package (unless 2003 lay out: far that you has to use my originally edited .dat) WITHOUT ANY MD INJECTION OR ANY OTHER MODIFICATION.
Let me know if it works and stay tuned for further news.

And I am a fool! I gave you duff information earlier. Just been and rechecked my Magny Cours 2003 file and the magic data hasn't been injected so is still working. I'll leave it this way for now. So many .dat files - so much confusion!

And to add to the confusion PK's updated the Magny Cours .dats to v1.1. Does your md work with these too Gabriele?

well by removing some other unused commands from the .dat and the captions strings from the MD I've succeeded to have a 10magnycours2003.dat size of 140040 bytes wich means that we're still out of 40 bytes! We can still remove some other object from the dat with a little loss of detail, but before to do it I want to ask Renè if I the [gp3 magic file] and [bumptable] headers can be removed or if he can do so that GPxPatch skips the unused setting strings.

As for the v 1.1, according to his readme I think that Paul only moved the slpit points, with no changes to the MD.
I'll upload the new .dat later at Race Sim Central forum.

Hey Gap. I downloaded your GP31.13 magny file, but it doesn´t work to me. Neither in Debug mode. What should i do?

still no luck, is there something i missed??

Grand Prix 3\Gp3jamsH\Belini\Tracks\magny\2003 should have 10 files in it so yes it looks like you've missed something. Each file is named mag2003_xx.jam(xx being name of each individual jam)

Have you downloaded and correctly installed the generic jams, available under a separate package at the Belini's site?

yes i have, i explained this earlier where i have all
the files but its not 100%

I have no problems with any missing textures in any of the Belini Magny-Cours tracks, but I'm afraid that I can't offer any suggestions to fix your problems other than the ones that have already been suggested.

As regards the timing sectors in the new 1.1 versions of these tracks. One of them has moved considerably nearer to the marking on the track, however the other one (which apparently should be at or near to the braking point for the Adelaide hairpin at the end of the long straight) now does not appear in GPxPatch at all. GPx Patch now reports only two timing sectors, which it identifies as 1 and 3. No times or speeds ever show up in GPxPatch in the onscreen timing displays nor do any times show up in the GPxPatch Keypad 9 key. Would anyone care to confirm if this is the case for them as well?

split #1 should be just after the mobil bridge, the second line is the
speed trap line, maybe you should ask rene if he's any idea what the problem is.

I've the same troubles as Jacki with the slip #2. Does it happen for GP3 2k too?
If you enable debug mode and you allow log assertions, verbosity high, you'll be informed about the actual problem:
"0x00411976 -> Split segment too high. Maybe the track is too small:
Let's say E is the last segment nr, and S is the split segment number.
Then GPx can't find 8 consecutive segments in the range [S, min(E-64, S+24*8)]
without bridged fences."
Though, asking Renè for some explaination should be a good idea!

no both splits are fine with gp32k, the only message I get with
verbosity high, is that there's bridged fences <3 sectors, which as you
know is unavoidable, must be a gp3 1.13 problem.
