Hello drivers! I have just finished competing in the 1983 F1 season and in the meantime I've updated some circuits. I hope you have fun and that I have not forgotten anything!
If there is any problem please let me know.
Good race;-)!

Hi ettore

A fantastic piece of work your 1983 trackpack is. I particularly like the Brands Hatch you made! I love the fact that Detroit has no pit buildings which is so much more accurate.

I didn't realize THIS pack existed until today and used bits of the 1981 track pack to improve my 1985 mega patch. That was a mistake. I will need to go back and use parts of the 1983 set as it is closer to 1985, literally and in terms of the track ads!!!

Do you plan to make any more track packs? If so is 1985 one of them? If not I will go ahead and make the changes.

Thanks very much, pooling these tracks together makes for fantastic results.

Would be good to hear from you. If you do 1984 one of the greatest contributions would be to make a decent Dallas Fair park circuit. There was a good one in GP2 but not GP3.

Great job!
I tested Detroit, and it is veeeeeeeery good detailed.
I noticed you miss a bit of the right kerb in the last chicane; insert this command in sector 240:
0x8f (143) right kerb begin/lenght
a1: 0
a2: 0
a3: 15
and you'll have the whole kerb.
Bye

Great great work :)

Thank you very much for this fine and accurate track pack...

Unfortunately I got a CTD when loading Zandvoort... Did anyone else have this problem??

Sometimes CTD is related to missing jiip file...
About kerbing, i don't know why but sometimes we miss some piece of kerb. But the command Kerb begin/lenght solves it.
By the way, i have edited a personal Detroit, but Ettore's one is much better, expecially in the descent to tunnel, now it looks like Detroit, before it looked like a piece of Monaco brought to Detroit :-O
About Zandvoort, it seems to be related to zandarmco.jiip.

Bye

I didn't have a ctd on zandvoort, but armcos had all different kinds of textures on it.

I took the jam 'fence9' and exported it, cut out the armco and resized to 256x64, then loaded this new texture with jam id 202 underneath 201 in 'fence9'.
In trackeditor in sector t0 add 2 cmds : scenery definition left fence + scenery definition right fence, and use jam id 202 for these cmds.
delete the 2 existing armco textures in the jam files tree.
save it again and drive...

a little workshop :-) c'mon

I think it is because the kerb is set on curved sections and a straight one.
I've noticed when you want to see kerbs on straight sections, its always better to put a kerb begin/length cmd.
Using kerb profile A (0 and 1) or B (2 and 3) can solve this behaviour sometimes.
I guess this is going to far for the regular users; thats why i said its always a challenge.

Thank you for giving me these tips to the kerb in Detroit! now I'll fix it for the future trackpack 1985. For Zandvoort I do not have this problem of the guard rails. but if you have found the best solution as well. I'm running in the 1984 season, but I'm not updating the adverts .. I'll do it for the next 1985 season .. have to wait many months, unfortunately I have no time! I could publish a 1984pack but updates circuits would be very similar to 1983. We'll see .. thank you again for your help! good race!

Hi Ettore

Love your work. I am happy to send you my 1985 Mega Patch which uses some of your 81 tracks and Jams and lots of 85 specific updates to JAMS. I should have used your 83 as a base for 85, bur didn't see it in time. Doh! I'll be doing that now as I can't want 'many months'. But I would be honoured if you did end up using any of my JAM work in your updates for 85. I don't have skills for track editing, only changing JAMs. Once done, I'll be working on 87.

Hope you do get some time for GP3 editing. We really enjoy your work!

Hi Ettore (and everyone!)

I am having problems with the Paul Ricard 1983 track. It loads OK and I a can race around no problem, all JAMS showing. But when I escape to leave the session, even if I pause first, the whole game crashes to desktop. I have tired re-inserting magic data but makes not difference. No other tracks have this problem for me. Any ideas? Thanks. Elio.

Hi! Try playing in debug mode .. I can not tell you of another

For some reason unknown to me I can't run gpxpatch in debug mode without crashing with any of my GP3 original copies and can only run in debug mode for my copies that are GP3_2000. I don't generally need to run in debug mode.
Any ideas?
