Problem with GP3 - 2000

I just successfully exported a 1991 carset to GP3-2000 file (cars, artwork, cockpit, performance data) and now..
I try to open the game.
It does, and then I try to start a race, but.... the race loads to 50%, but then the game throws me an error.
And no matter if I try again or rr my PC or anything, still this error shows up.
Whats strange is, that....
Today I tried to find out, what does actually cause this error. I exported artwork, performance data. Game still works.
The problem could be caused by cars. Kinda strange that I successfully exported those cars of 1991 season, but the race cant start. After I exported cars, race doesn`t go on. How come?
(Double - strange thing is, that once I exported the cars from 2002 season, but the race COULD go on then).
Any help would be great. ;)
Austra.

(For information - I use carset creator to export cars and cockpits, and the performance data (I take them from "gp3 edit 1991 carset" and insert them to carset creator, then export them.)

sorry, but never trust Carsetcreator! :(

it behaves as an unfinished diamond. when I started modding I tried the same with same no success. GP3-2k is a little more complicated to patch. here my personal workflow:

1. look for real car-.jams inside gamedir
2. use SW like "GP3Jammer" or "JamEditor2000" to extract xx.bmp from xx.jam
3. use SW "MSPaint" (!) to convert xx.bmp -> xx.jpg (or some other fomat to edit/paint carset)
4. make sure you use absolutely no black(!) pixels, they will be shown as transparent inside game
5. use SW "MSPaint" (!) again to convert "newcar" xx.jpg -> xx.bmp
6. use "GP3Jammer" or "JamEditor2000" again to insert xx.bmp into xx.jam (carjam)

if someone knows an easier way plz let me know..

hope that helps!

Could you, dude, please tell me where is that "xx.jam" file is located in a gp3_2000 folder? (Was looking for it, but did not find it)
Also, you said that a file must be converted from bmg top jpg. Do you think, that exporting the JPG car files would reach a success?

gamedir/Gp3jamsH/Liveries/..

or

you built up a "seasonset" with GPxPatch (->GPxSet)

@Do you think, that exporting the JPG car files would reach a success?
follow my described workflow exactly, gp3-2k takes formats and paths very seriously

Ok, I got it now, but.....
Carset creator seems to be a real traitor, since I can`t load a JAM file (that contains a car). It can open cockpits, helmets and everything else, except cars. And I looked for a correct jam and correct folder (gp3jamsH)
Should I try JamEditor2000? (I`m kinda "scared" of getting the same error with the second tool as well).

-GP3Jammer is for cars the best choice
-JamEditor2000 for all other stuff and cars

(just always do folder-backups and nothing can go wrong!)

Sounds like I have to color down those black pixels, and this move has nothing to do with making the race go.
When I "somehow" managed to export those 2002 cars, (well yeah), some black cars (like minardi) where like "full of holes".
But that doesn`t disturb me anyway. I can play with all that.
Now I guess that I jsut have one step left -> paint chaos. Putting the 1991 cars over the original 2000 (default) cars. :D

I`ve just experimented a bit, and... got funny results.
I`ve exported a 2010 mclaren car to gp32k, and the race ran.
I`ve exported a 1992 mclaren car to gp32k, and the race didn`t run. Error.
What the heck is this? gp32k doesn`t like classics? :D

Now I`ve realised, that...
Cars, that are taken from carsets, that are older than 2000, won`t run.
Strange, but these are the results that I`ve got here 0_0

solution for moving all black pixels to a dark grey:

1. you need photoshop (maybe gimp can also do this)
2. convert your finished/painted xx.jpg with photoshop into .gif-format by using "File->Save for web"
3. photoshop will open a window where you now can delete all black pixels easily:
a) there in top-right corner select GIF
b) move mousecursor over colored squares in right-bottom little window called "color table" and watch the R: G: B: -values
c) select all very dark ones with values R:<9 and G:<9 and B:<9
d) delete these dark squares by clicking the tiny trashcan-symbol
e) when all very dark are removed save this .gif
4. open this .gif with "MSPaint" (!)
5. select all
6. copy to clipboard
7. open some car.bmp with "MSPaint"
8. select all
9. paste clipboard content
10. save as xx.bmp
11. insert this xx.bmp with GP3Jammer

hope that helps!

..not true: every gp3-car should work if it has correct size and correct format

->important:
1.extract .bmp from .jam
2. produce new .bmp
3. import back into .jam

Very simple, understandable explanation (finally).
Also, this move WORKED! (Kinda confusing way to put in new cars, but is worth it!).
Many thanks, pirx buddy. :)
Also, I`m kinda having a problem with carshapes, because i can`t load them through gpxpatch. When I run the game with the carshape, error. Won`t run.
(However, running with a different carshape isn`t really a high priority for me. Just tried the game with belini patch, and the game was SUPER ENJOYABLE!
Again, many thanks. :)

@carshape-crash:

maybe it was made for gp3v1.13?

use "CarEditor" to solve by exporting (from gp3)/importing (to gp3-2k) via .ctf-format

cheers!
