Hi all experts :)

I would like to know if there is any way to assign a sound for entering the pit function while driving (hitting the return key for entering pits)..??

Could it be added to the sounds in GPxSound.set..??

Thanks in advance for your suggestions/answers :)

yes, I think so:

goto dir .../gpxpdata/snd/... and you should find a "soundset.ini"

which looks like:
.........................................
; Specify a path of a .wav file for each event you want a sound for.
; Path is relative to this snd directory.
; It is recommended for sound pack makers to put all samples in a
; subdirectory. This means each sample needs to be prefixed with
; that subdirectory too.

then point to this "ini" via GpxPatch

hope that helps

Thank you very much for quick responce Pirx... :)

In fact I didn't know that the soundset.ini had the pitin and pitout functions.. Now upgraded to GPxPatch 3.93.1...

But: I have assigned a sound (as usual) for the pitin event, but no sound when hitting the 'return' key for entering pits... May I ask in what way the pitin/out function is working in race...??

maybe analyse SEASON2012mod: there is some stuff called "tomsound"...
mention: .wavs can have different samplerate / different quantisation (bit) -> analyse working wavs from tomsound-stuff

for entering the pits there is also the Enable Pit Siren in the GpXSound tab. it plays a horn when crossing the speed limiter.

btw, is there any new full pitradio in progress?

Thank you very much for feedback :)

Good idea from Pirx, I will check asap...

Pithorn sound is okay and works fine...

Would really like to know how the pitin and pitout function works in game, please do not hesitate to give some feedback :)

I have a full pitradio for GPxPatch but when zipped it's more than 15Mb.... (Perhaps make it in 2 or 3 separate parts...?)

Checked the Tomsound.ini and there is no pitin and pitout lines in the ini file. These can however with no problems be added later...

I now know how it works: when stopping for pitservice the 'pitin' sound activates... When releasing from pitbox the 'pitout' sound activates.

I have uploaded a complete pit radio set for GPxPatch (3 parts) and included sounds for the pitin/out functions... The pitout sound with a delay for more realism (imho) ...

Lots of the sounds in the pit radio set do not only play a single pit message but two or more with more or less delay. In that way a pit radio message can be heard when racing on track and not just when crossing start/finish line or in pits..

I have asked 'SDI' (creator of GPxPatch) if activating pit signal using 'enter' key could be added to GPxSound functions, - awaiting answer....

Best regards :)

Hehe, I'm afraid not.... ;)

It's not 'live' sounds apart from one or two messages...

LOL

@shlund:
would be really great indeed! -maybe on just activating F7?
(If the audiofile is not available on youtube, I would have it)

And if you can catch SDI, please tell me how! Lo2k told me he is out of GP3-business :(

Now uploaded 3 wav files with various versions of the legandary comments of Kimi Räikkönen...

These files can be used by GP3Sound Editor and GPxPatch... Only you decide in what function... :)

Any suggestions...??

It's not likely that we have a newer version of GPxPatch with new stuff implemented, so perhaps some of our experts in modding know something about it...

My idea was to have a kind of interactive communication between driver and box...!

This could be possible if a sound could be assigned to the keys which can be activated during the race: f1 - f12 and of course the 'enter' key... Also the 'O' (Processor) and 'T' key and others could be used..

When activating the key in question you'll get a feedback from the box... When box is busy, you'll get a message and can act accordingly... Okay, just some 'brainstorming' from my side :)

Do you have any ideas of how to make this "interactive pit radio communication"...??
