GP3 graphics problem [strangely solved]

One of my GP3-owning friends as a fair old problem here:
Quote

The FPS at Grand Prix 3 has decreased to around 18 FPS with halting each second for a tiny moment. This screws up the fun of driving!.

Extra info: the test and recalibration in the Options > Graphics > Advanced does not work anymore: the files are probably corrupted and do not work. Maybe asking for a new, clean, working file would work fixing it. That's would be a step.

What could be done to stop these interruptive halts?
Also, I always run the game in a low resolution for the perfect number of FPS.

I tried everything to put it back to normal but nothing helps.
I even tried using the Quality/Smoothness bar and putting into max. smoothness in the Graphics section.

Any help? :(

Hum...
PC config ? (CPU, RAM, Graphic Card, OS, ...). Would be better if you want someone to help.
Also, something new on the computer just before the issue occurs ?

Did your friend try to do a new clean install of the game ? Or/and a driver update of his graphic card ?

I was thinking about graphic card, but in that case we're missing RAM :( Any help there ? (MDBSnake, Turbo Lover, ...)

Should I say something about that ? Well yes. Why don't you do it ? :-o

On another hand, does your friend play in SW or HW mode ?

I would install the whole game new..

mention:
- after deinstallation do a registry clean and reboot
- then test everything before installing gpxpatch

hope that helps!

All in all I think he should do a fresh installation after backup his MOD. Later on he can easily restore his MOD step by step..

Remind he can run more than 1 installation of the game, just need to name different directories for it.

Yes, your friend can make a backup of his files (the whole GP3 directory) in a safe place, then de-install and reinstall the game the way pirx said, and then test the game to see if everything works properly.
After that, and only after that, he can make a try with its saved directory. He just need to paste it somewhere in his computer and run the GP3.exe in it.

May I ask an other question ? Does the issue happened just after he modded his game or long time after ?

Funny, he's just sent me this:

This is mighty strange... :)
I deleted a program (no necessary describing), but thanks to that PC works perfectly smooth again... I can't explain how, but it seems to be fact. Let's just call the problem "solved" for now and if something happens again I let you know :)
