Why does this weird camera thing happen?

On the 1997 shape and the 2009 shape this happens:

It seems to be a carshape issue. I mean maybe the carshape is a bit wrong...
Do you have the same problem with the in-cockpit view?

No it's all good in the cockpit view.

I doubt it's a "wrong" carshape in any way,

It's the official EMAC 1997 generic carshape, however the 2009 shape i have does exactly the same thing.

Any ideas what it could be? or what i could change to fix it?
