Hi,

Does anyone know how to stop the cc cars from crashing into eachother so regularly? This seems to happen at least twice per race, where one car just runs into the back of another on a slow bend, forcing the first one to spin and often causing a multiple shunt behind. It detracts from the realism.

I've tried different levels and values in the performance .txt files. All I've discovered is that if the cc driver performance variances are much below 50 the crashing gets worse.

Thanks,
Tim

it shouldn't be too bad with the original performance files except for low
downforce tracks where cars are on a long one stop fuel, ie monza/hockenheim

a quick fix is to halve the 3 fuel values in the magic data or use belini tracks
and patch which fixs problem.

Thanks.

I've been testing with the Belini Monarco 2006 track. Have installed the grip patch as per instructions, and calling physics file via GpxPatch. But in every race there is a shunt at the first corner, usually holding up half the field. Is this normal? If not any idea of a cause?
I can see the grip/physics patch makes the leading cars give eachother a wider berth at the first corner, but those behind still get tangled up.
Re the magic data file, which 3 values do you mean? Desc 48, 70 & 71 seem to look like they're fuel-related...

Best wishes,
Tim

very stange, I've just watched a couple of starts @ monaco 2006 the midfield
get a bit squeezed but they all get through turn 1 ok without damage.

are you using belini performance file? have to say the only problem I've had
with monaco is the ai getting confused when pitting and being lapped at the
same time.

yes those are the ones, it won't fix bespoke tracks where the line is bad
but it helps a lot with low downforce tracks. it's only monza that I had to
do this, in qualifying the ai make the first chicane with no problem, but
in the race 50% of the time they miss the braking point until the fuel load
decreases, by reducing the fuel values by 70% fixed the problem.

I have fallen back to an old F1gstate.sav and that seems to have fixed the problem!
Thanks for all the new tracks by the way. They are superb. There seems a minor glitch or 2 with Monarco 2006. The pit lane exit at St Devote seems to be slightly out height-wise where it joins the main track. Also around Loews hairpin a chunk of the ground seems missing. Both these glitches only effect the external camera view.
Another query. The belini tracks have the ideal-line turned off. Any way of turning it on again? Even if incomplete it is useful for 3rd rate drivers like me!

Cheers,
Tim

the tracks will always look a little glitched from external cameras
as the 3d model isn't a real 3d world, pitlane exits are also a pain to
do with tracks like monaco.

there's no line on any of the belini tracks due to the detail, you'll get used
to it:)
