steering wheel and pedal difficulties

i've tried running my controls , a microsoft sidewinder precision racing wheel with pedals, and im ok using it in the game, the only problem is my legs start to ache slightly after half a lap of silverstone, ive tried putting myself in the f1 cockpit sitting position and its even worse, is there any tips you could give me other than trading in my body parts to get one of those racing seats?
