I was just looking at the tracks for '07 and was dismayed to find that the '04 version of Monaco by PatrickF1 was crashing out just before Lowes hairpin. Okay. Sort it another time and meanwhile, use the '02 version by Matti Laitenen. Or so I thought. That too is RTD'ing on the approach to Lowes hairpin. Also the Belini Sakhir is RTD'ing at the start/finish line. I'm about to check the other circuits (Barcelona '02, Silverstone '04, Sepang, Spa are all good) so if anyone has any ideas what is wrong, I'd love to hear from ya. BTW, all these have run fine when I set up my '06 tracklist earlier in the year and I don't know of any file movements etc in the .jams that could cause it.

sometimes corrupt jams can cause a crash, I've not had any problems with sakhir,
if you're using gp32k then any error in the gpxpatch set file will also cause a
crash usually under race conditions.

the way I check for problems is to create a new folder in the track jams folder
and drag all jams into it, if track loads then you know that there's a corrupt
jam, problem with corrupt jams is that they don't look corrupt, if you discover
one, a fix that usually works is to increase the canvas size of the jam, if you
find sakhir has this problem please let me know.

Thanks Paul, I re-installed the '04 Monaco and went back again. Lo! Sakhir worked - once. Checking the error log (I run medium verbosity debug mode) it is a graphical problem but I have a suspicion it is down to resources being down after a heavy session with Firefox 2. I hope my browser is not that wasteful of resources but its looking that way. Must remember to run GP3 (v1.13) on as clean a session as I can. Do you think my twin screen setup could be causing stress? :=)

belini tracks as you know are for gp32k so it could be an incompatabilty
problem, there are some weird graphic problems I have at higher res, I usually
run in 1280 which is fine for most tracks, some tracks like spa I have to drop
down to 1024 or 800, could well be a memory handling problem as gpxpatch
extends things a little further than the game was originally designed for:) all
but one of the original gp32k tracks are under 120k, belini tracks are between
124k and 195k so I'm not suprised there's some problems.

the only time I get CTD is when the firewall kicks in, usually when I race I'm
off the net and close down the firewall/anti-virus etc as it's best that there's
no other programs running.

btw, low verbosity, log assertions=off is all you need to run bespoke tracks

I only attempt the 1.13 compatible tracks (including Draffi5 and friends adaptation of turkey?) I run in 1024 (or my old Iiyama screens protest) but I hadn't thought about closing the home network or internet connection.

I'll be back!
