Don't calibrate the graphics.

I'm really not trying to be snide here.

I have often had GP3 crash when I try to calibrate the graphics after installing a new carshape, for example, but GP3 will run perfectly well anyway if you choose not to do so.

The only thing that the graphics calibration seems to do is for the game to recommend a screen resolution and choose the automatic graphics settings. With a new computer, you will very likely be able to run GP3 satisfactorily at all the maximum graphics settings, so don't calibrate the graphics and then choose the manual graphics settings option in the advanced graphics menu.

So just playing without calibrating doesn't help either.

Gunther - does your mainboard have a VIA chip? If yes, are the VIA 4in1 drivers installed? If not, d/l them from the VIA site and install them.

VIA is a company that makes chipsets. The chipset is the main interface between the processor and everything else in the computer. Look in your documentation that came with the computer to see what brand it is. Then go to their website and d/l the latest drivers.

No, that's the video card. You need to know the name of your motherboeard (or mainboard). If you find it out, tell us and we can (hopefully) help you

ok i got a question. GP3 only asked to have the graphics calerbrated once on my old PC. However on my new one it asks for it every time i play the game. NE ideas why as i always save the setting changes i make so the should just reload upon start-up.

Are there two graphic cards listed in your graphic cfg file (twice the same?). Some nvidia cards do this for some reason. Just delete one of the entries and all should be well again. (Of course back up the file first before you mess aroud with it.
