Gosh what a horrid looking car, looks like something out of Formula 3 or Formula 2 from those times.

Tyrrell really did fall from grace dramatically didn't it :(

The Tyrrell 011 did win 2 GPs. So not that bad.

Yeah the '82 Detroit car looks much different to this original '81 spec of the 011 though.

And the point still stands - it looks nasty (the 2 wins don't affect that).
Fall from grace - 3 mega years (not including championships with Matra & wins with March prior) from 71-73, and decent years from 74-77. They never recovered, yes they got 2 wins, but although a win is a win and they deserved one, it was no where near a front running car. So that point still stands :P

I usually try not to judge chassis performance on a race result. Otherwise Ferrari's Silverstone 2010 result says they had the 9th best car on the grid - which wasn't so. Any manner of variables can affect a race result. So yes Tyrrell 011 got 2 wins, it wasn't a great or really even a good car. Just benefited from reliablity (AND YES I realise that's racing, but my point was one of performance not luck :P)

They had two wins thanks to Alboreto and on tracks where speed wasn't the main skill.
That said, it was a pretty nice team and having two wins at that time was a big achievement for them considering the very light budget they had those years.
